![]() ![]() ![]() The main character of this book is a pink and sparkly girly girl (she's 22) who's pretty and knows it and who places great value in her appearance. I'm trying to make this review stand on its own, but I can't help but make some comparisons between these two. I read this book right after another Urban Fantasy Romance thingy that didn't work for me at all ( review here), and for some reason, liked this one a lot more even though they share some issues. ![]() ![]() Not like I can really judge it, but it seemed as though she nailed both the southern US accent of the main character AND all the Celtic folklore terms, so that was a neat combo I listened to the audio version of this and found the narrator really good. Journeying to Ireland in search of answers, Mac is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to master a power she had no idea she possessed - a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae. When MacKayla's sister was murdered, she left a single clue to her death, a cryptic message on Mac's cell phone. Recommended if you like: fae/fairies as villains, urban fantasy, stories set in Ireland, southern US main character, murder mystery, themes of family & found family, evil sex demons, unapologetically girly main character ![]()
